Nowruz x Togo: meet the team Artillio Foort: Mijn Nowruz x Togo: meet the team Artillio Foort: Mijn naam is Artillio en ik ben fotograaf bij Nowruz. Het is voor mij een ware zegen om deel uit te maken van het inspirerende project van Stichting de Thuishaven, dat zich inzet voor kwetsbare jongeren. Door mijn werk heb ik het voorrecht gekregen om Afrika te verkennen en de pracht van dit continent vast te leggen. Het is een onvergetelijke ervaring om de verhalen en de schoonheid van deze plekken in beeld te mogen brengen. ❤️🌹 @artilliooo
28 years after, the fall of Srebrenica is still co 28 years after, the fall of Srebrenica is still commemorated annually. The remembrance on July 11th was an emotional day where all feelings were evident, but sadness was predominantly on the foreground. We tried to capture the moments of this day. We took photos of surviving family members reflecting on the victims and seeking solace with their loved ones. When words fall short in describing the pain in the photos, the presence of the crowd fills their hearts. The act of remembrance offers some solace to anyone who takes a moment to reflect and seeks peace. Photos by @shotsbyds_
We have partially walked and followed the Mars Mir We have partially walked and followed the Mars Mira in recent days. Mars Mira is a pedestrian march, held in the context of commemorating the genocide against the Bosniaks in Srebrenica and its surroundings, with the aim of honoring the victims of the genocide and remembering the terrible crimes committed. Young and old, men and women, everyone from all over the world comes together to collectively commemorate the horrific events and share pain while also connect and comfort each other. Met meer dan honderd mensen hebben we een prachtig publiek weten te bereiken, en veel positieve reacties en feedback gekregen over de film. Dank allen voor het komen! We willen graag nogmaals @noraaka bedanken voor haar komst, we willen @gigantapeldoorn bedanken voor het faciliteren van deze prachtige dag in onze eigen Apeldoorn en we willen voor deze specifieke foto's @shotsbyds_ bedanken voor het maken van deze prachtige shots. Ook @towiu.vision heeft hele mooie foto's gemaakt van gisteren, die zullen we ook zo snel mogelijk online plaatsen. Vaak vergeten we in het proces waar we daadwerkelijk mee bezig zijn. Met Nowruz willen we graag mensen verbinden door het maken van documentaires in het buitenland en verhalen bij elkaar te verzamelen van bijzondere mensen. Maar op een dag zoals gisteren, wanneer we er écht bij stilstaan, beseffen we ons dat we het doel al hebben bereikt. Allerlei diverse mensen, diverse dialogen en diverse gesprekken die we gezamenlijk hebben kunnen voeren. The journey is the film. 🌹

We willen mensen inspireren om hun dromen te realiseren en hun talenten te ontwikkelen. Zo kunnen we samen groeien en bloeien, net als de roos in ons logo. • Our name, Nowruz, symbolizes the beginning of a new season, a fresh start, and means literally in Persian: the beginning of spring - a new day - the realization of dreams. We aim to inspire people to pursue their dreams and develop their talents, so that we can grow and flourish together, just like the rose in our logo. 🌹

Mamosta Zrar 🌹 We met Mamosta Zrar in a shopp Mamosta Zrar 🌹 We met Mamosta Zrar in a shopping alley of Rawandouz. We started talking and he told us about his life. Mamosta Zrar was an influential teacher who was highly respected in the community of Rawandouz and Soran. He devoted his life to training musicians and had a great love for theatre. Mamosta was a master of playing instruments. During our conversation we asked to hear some of his music. His answer was: “I’d love to, but my eyes don’t see well anymore, and my hands aren’t what they used to be.” This was hard to hear from a man who devoted his whole life to his passion. Fortunately, he got to share his special story with us, which made his eyes light up. Four months after our meeting, Mamosta Zrar passed away. The turnout for his funeral was attended by everyone in Rawandouz, which was a beautiful thing to behold. His work and legacy will live on forever. Today we live in a world where it seems as if divisions are increasing, polarization is being fed and hatred is being served as supper. Our vision came about after we saw positivity in creativity. We envision how we can bring people of different religions, cultures, and also complete opposites of each other closer together. After several tumultuous years, we have realized that it is time to bring our talents to life in combination with our visions and to map stories of extraordinary people with the networks at our disposal.
