At Nowruz, we believe in “using football as a means to achieve something greater…” — but sometimes it’s also simply about winning.

Last Friday, the women of Nowruz played in the cup final in Lichtenvoorde for the second year in a row. Unfortunately, this time the opponent proved to be just a little stronger.

Nevertheless, we are incredibly proud to represent two women’s teams, and proud of all the women of Nowruz! 🌹

We are pleased to share that Marga Leuwol is joining SC Nowruz to support us as a Project Coordinator for SC Nowruz Togoville.

Together we will work on strengthening communication with Togo, building structure, and further developing our social football academy in Togoville, Togo. Marga brings a strong combination of organizational skills, social engagement, and experience working with young people.Description goes here

SC Nowruz Togoville is proud to welcome another valuable partner to our academy. Cleaner Apeldoorn, who has supported our project several times in the past, has now officially committed as a partner of the SC Nowruz Togoville Academy until at least the end of 2026.

Cleaner Apeldoorn is an entrepreneurial cleaning company specialized in the professional cleaning of car interiors, sofas, chairs, carpets, and rugs. Since its founding in 2021, they have not shied away from any challenge and are known for their strong work ethic and hands-on mentality.

SC Nowruz Togoville and Elite Schoonmaakdiensten have entered into a partnership. Elite Schoonmaakdiensten has become an official partner of our academy and will actively support the project in Togoville in the further development of the youth and the football activities.

Nowruz means “new day” and symbolizes a new beginning, connection, and hope — an idea that inspired us to build a community where people can discover their talents and realize their dreams.

Within this vision, we organized an MDT program for young asylum seekers, combining weekly futsal training sessions with creative workshops to strengthen confidence, teamwork, and self-expression. The project helps make the diversity of stories, perspectives, and talents visible that might otherwise remain unheard.

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, an important milestone took place in Togoville for the development of the SC Nowruz Togoville Academy. The local team organized an official general meeting attended not only by players, parents, and supporters, but also by representatives of the municipality, the regional football district, community organizations, and sports experts from the region.

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, we will screen Salam Sarane at Museum Sophiahof in The Hague during a special film and talk evening as part of Generasi 3.0.

Salam Sarane is a story born from a personal journey to the Moluccas, where we traveled with seventeen young men to meet different communities and experience firsthand the centuries-old concept of brotherhood between Muslims and Christians — known as Pela Gandong.

This past winter, SC Nowruz organized a series of futsal clinics at the Eligant Lyceum in Zutphen. During five sessions at the Hanzehal, we trained 18 students aged 12 to 14 in the basics of futsal — from passing and positioning to game insight and teamwork.

Last Friday, I, Yasser Ishraqi, had the opportunity to join Suhoor Stories on NPO Radio 1, the Ramadan show where togetherness during the holy month takes center stage. The program reflects on suhoor — the pre-dawn meal — and shares inspiring stories connected to current events.
